Alkalising Recipe of the Week – Fig & Spinach salad

Yum! This is the tastiest and easiest alkaline salad you will ever make. Enjoy.

Serves 4


1 red onion, sliced thin

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1 cup hot water

150g baby spinach

2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

1/2 tsp honey

2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Celtic sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste

8 figs, sliced

2 tbsp chopped walnuts


Slice onion and let sit for at least 5 minutes to enhance its health-promoting properties.

Marinate sliced onion in 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar and hot water for 10 minutes while preparing rest of ingredients.

Whisk together balsamic vinegar, honey, salt and pepper, drizzling in the olive oil a little at a time at the end.

Toss with rest of ingredients and serve.

  1. I would add two more ingredients to this. Sundried tomatoes (Chopped) and sun-dried cranberries. YUM YUM!
    Actually just stick with the sun-dried tomatoes.
