Alkalising Recipe of the Week – Refreshing Alkaline Salad

This is the ideal lunch when you are eating an alkaline diet. If you are hungry try adding your favourite beans or lentils to it, cooked chickpeas are the perfect companion. Alternatively, it can be served it as a side salad with dinner when you make vegetable patties, falafels or with fish.  

Serves 4

Ingredients

2 cups Greens (baby greens, spinach, lettuce, etc.)

1 cup Grated Beetroot

½ cup Grated Carrots

1 cup Grated Red Cabbage

1 Red, Yellow, or Orange capsicum, diced

1 cup Sprouts (mung bean, snow pea, alfalfa etc)

1 diced Cucumber

2 tbsp sesame seeds

 

Dressing

4-5 tbsp Morlife Certified Organic flaxseed oil

½ lemon juiced

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

1 garlic clove, minced (optional)

Celtic sea salt and pepper

 

Method

 

In a large salad bowl, add fresh, clean, dry greens.

Arrange the rest of the salad ingredients on top.

Mix dressing ingredients, pour over salad and top with seeds.
